Singing the King's Death: lecture recital commemorating the 300th anniversary of Louis XIV's death.

In order to commemorate the 300th anniversary of Louis XIV's death, members of Ars eloquentiae and Nick Hammond will be presenting a lecture recital of street songs sung at the time of Louis's death. Katie Bray (who recently sang the role of Rosina in Rossini's The Barber of Seville, and described by the Guardian as 'the bright young mezzo who really impresses here') will be the soloist. The event will be held at the Lady Mitchell Hall, Sidwick site, Cambridge University, Cambridge CB39DA, UK, between 5.30 and 7pm on Thursday November 26th 2015. Admission is free and all are welcome.
